POWER, PURPOSE AND PURITY
“… O Lord, and do not give your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, where is their God?” Joel 2:17
I trust that you had a blessed fasting day.
Another fasting purpose is for God to sweep across our church with a fiery, end-time revival and to saturate every church member with power, purpose and purity.
Oh God, restore our power! Power comes through prayer. It was while Peter and John were going up together (prayer is an uphill battle) to the temple to pray, that the Lord proved his power by healing the lame man at the gate. A close study of the book of Acts will show that the apostles were either going to prayer, were at prayer or were coming from prayer.
Oh God, restore our purpose! A twelve year old Jesus teaches the importance of purpose. “I must be in my Father’s business.” His business was to do the will of the Father. Exalt Christ (by taking our cross and dying daily), Equip the Church (to implement the Strategy of Jesus) and Evangelize the World (by reaching the “uttermost parts”) is our purpose.
Oh God, restore our purity! Only in His presence will we be purified. All strife, pride, envy, lust and all other works of the flesh must be burned from our heart - Burned totally, burned completely – as David said “with burnt offering and whole burnt offering.” (Psalms 51:19)
Then comes revival…
