(Read Acts 13:47)
I want you for a moment to be a person with a big imagination. Share with those around you, ‘What kind of superhero would you like to be?’
These types of imagination exercises are really good because they give your mind free rein and you go on a trip. WAKE UP! Being a superhero is not a product of your imagination, it’s reality. If you are a Christian servant, one who wants to do the will of God without reservation or conditions, friend and brother/sister, you are already a superhero. “I don’t understand: me, a superhero? The Bible verse we read shows us that we are "Carriers of Salvation" and light for the nations.
Now that you’ve realized that you really are a superhero, have the boldness to save humanity with the words that the Almighty God has placed on your lips. There is a testimony to share. There is a life that needs church, a husband or wife that needs prayer. Be the superhero that God has called you to be.
Father, I understand that I have a great task ahead of me and that I am an agent of change for humanity. Help me to fulfill Your commandment and be bold enough to expand Your salvation. In the Name of Jesus, AMEN.
(Read Ecclesiastes 10:10)
How many times have you done the same thing over and over again and you come to the point that it just stops working? Come on, be real with me. You can cook an amazing roast beef and mashed potatoes with gravy, but if you make it every day, it’s going to get old. If you do the same thing every single day with your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend, resistance is going to come. If you raise your kids the same way every single day even though they are growing up, there will be resistance.
Let’s go back to Solomon’s advice. “If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed.” Everything in life needs to be sharpened. To sharpen means, “to seek different strategies to achieve an objective”. It’s time to pause and think for a moment if you are having to use more strength because your ax is dull. You are going to grow tired.
Take a minute to identify those areas in your life that need a change how they are being operated. Sometimes changing things can bring challenges, but I encourage you to be bold because you will see a great change.
Remember, sharpen your ax.
Father, help me identify the areas in my life that need to be sharpened. I want to be a good Christian, that gives good fruit for Your glory. I know that I can count on Your favor and Your great advice. I place my life in Your hands. In the Name of Jesus, AMEN.
(Read John 15:18-27)
In this Bible passage, Jesus explains to His disciples that if He suffered, if the world hated Him, if they persecuted Him, they too would go through the same thing. But why? Because those who come against Christ’s followers do not know the Father who sent Him (verse 21).
Jesus wasn’t just saying that the men who walked alongside Him would go through difficulties for the cause of His Name, but we would also have to face persecutions, sufferings and abhorrence because we are not of this world.
Maybe you’re thinking, “Then why it is worth it to go through all of that?” Jesus Christ went through all of that to end up on a cross and die for our sins. He didn’t have to do it, but out of love and obedience to the Father, He did it and now you and I have the opportunity to live for an eternity with Him. That’s why it’s worth it to go through whatever may come our way for the cause of Christ.
It may seem like you’re losing when you go through these difficult things, but at the end of it all, you will win, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Take a moment and think about the amazing love of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
